Cycle Barriers on Urban Paths:

The Norwich Access Group has been looking at how cycle barriers on urban paths sometimes block disabled users. Through the Norfolk Local Access Forum they invited the Project Engineer for Highways Major Projects to discuss the issue.

It was highlighted how important it is that this issue was taken on board and that the Highways team and the community worked together to ensure that this was considered automatically in future. It was suggested that any specific complaints or requests for adaptations were put into the Area Engineers on Norfolk County Council's Highways webpage :

It was also suggested that NCC Highway Engineers could consult with disabled people through the Norfolk Coalition of Disabled People which also has links to many local disability groups.
